Rev Ian Smith has been Executive Officer for Victorian Council of Churches since 2013. He is the Inaugural Chair of the VCC EM Board and a chaplain with VCC EM since the mid-1990s with Syd Smaile, Graeme Winterton and Stuart Stuart. Ian has been a Christian minister in local church settings for 38 years and for three decades has worked in the multi-faith and inter-faith sector of Melbourne and Victoria. |
Simon Loukes is a risk professional with more than 20 years’ experience in business and technology risk management who has worked across a range of industries in the UK and Australia. He connected with VCC EM in 2016 through a workplace volunteering program, helping to develop our risk registers, resulting in his later being asked to join the Board. Simon is a semi-professional sports photographer, a committee member for his son’s basketball club and an advisory board member of his church. |
Sophie Sexton-Bruce is the Manager Policy and Co-ordination at Bushfire Recovery and has held senior roles in Government agencies including DHHS, EMV, Department of Premier and Cabinet and Department of Justice. She has more than 15 years’ senior management experience in security, incident and emergency management in the Victorian State Government and she is determined to create public value through systems thinking and innovation. Before that she held short-term assignments with the UN, UNICEF Swaziland Country Office and UNDP in Geneva. Of French and Swedish nationality, and now Australian, she moved to Melbourne to be with her Australian partner for what was meant to be three years. Many years later, they are married with three kids, Elsa 8, Alexander 10 and Sebastien 12. |
Justin Justin has more than 20 years’ public and private sector experience in strategy, capability and emergency management. He has a command of leading change, delivering on operational outcomes and supporting organisational strategy, which he brings to his role of Operations Manager at ERGT Training. He holds a Bachelor of Business and a Masters in Business Administration and has completed the AICD Company Directors Course. He has a passion for leading and developing teams in the delivery of strategic vision, particularly in the VET sector. He also supports several local organisations and charities in an advisory and team-building role and is passionate about sports, having played football all his life. When he can, he enjoys time with wife Kristin and their four children. |
